Preview Hema nailpolishes fall/winter

This post will most likely be only interesting for my Dutch readers. Last Thursday I went to the press-day from Hema, a big Dutch warehouse that sells only products by their own brand. They sell cosmetics, clothing, food, drinks, office products, home decoration, ehmmm, you get the idea, they sell almost everything. Today I'm showing the new polishes and some other products.

Afgelopen donderdag ben ik naar de pers-dag van Hema geweest die werd gehouden op hun prachtige kantoor in Amsterdam. Er waren 3 grote stands waarin hun nieuwe producten werden tentoongesteld, en ik kan jullie alvast een paar dingen laten zien. Omdat ik natuurlijk een nagelblog heb zal ik niet alles laten zien, maar de rest kunnen jullie over een paar weken zelf bekijken in de winkel.

De nieuwe nagellakken voor dit najaar/winter:

Jaaa allemaal folie/metallics! Vind je ze niet prachtig?
Dit zijn niet de uiteindelijke flesjes, ze zullen worden verkocht in de kleine vierkante flesjes met zilveren dop. Niet de mooiste of meest praktische flesjes, maar de kleurtjes zijn wél mooi.

Yesss they are all foils/metallics! Aren't they pretty?
They will come in smaller square bottles, which I personally don't love, but these colors are great.

En omdat er zo veel leuke andere nieuwe spulletjes stonden heb ik nog een paar andere leuke previews voor jullie.
And because there were so many other nice new thing displayed I'm showing you some more previews.
Zijn deze make-up kwasten niet leuk? Er komt een enorm assortiment van verschillende make-up kwasten in deze kleuren. Ik gebruik alleen maar kwastjes van Hema, dus ik zal ze allemaal moeten vervangen voor deze gezellige kwastjes.
Aren't these brushes pretty? There will be a big collection of different make-up brushes in these colors.
Ik ben gek op sokken, maillots en leggings. Deze staan ook vanaf nu op mijn wishlist, vooral de middelste overknees en de legging direct rechts daarvan!
I just love socks, thights and leggings. These are now officially on my wishlist, especially the overknees in the middles and the legging next to them.



Ik hou niet van chocolade, maar deze zijn wel té schattig, hmmm voor wie kan ik deze allemaal kopen in december?
I don't like chocolate, but these are too cute, hmmm who can I buy these for next december.

Er stond ook een leuk versierde kerstboom, wat best een raar gevoel is in augustus, maar hij is wel erg leuk.
There stood a Christmastree that was beautifully decorated. Felt a littlebit weird seeing a Chritmastree in august.

Toen ik wegging kreeg ik een grote goodiebag mee waar een selectie van het Hema assortiment inzat, gelukkig had ik een sterke man bij me om de tas voor me door Amsterdam te tillen!
And when I left they gave me a huge goodiebag with some of their products in it, luckily I had a strong man with me to carry the bag through Amsterdam.

All that glitters is gold. Glitterrrrrssss with China Glaze Medallion

Oh Medallion, how I love you so much. You make my nails look like 10 little New Year's Eve party's filled with fancy clothing, lots of champagne and the prettiest fireworks.

Oh Medallion, ik hou zo van je. Mijn nagels zien eruit als 10 kleine Oud&Nieuw feestjes met feestkleding, veel champagne en prachtig vuurwerk.

Kleur
Transparante nagellak met heel veel geelgouden glitter, wat kleine fijne zilveren glitter en grotere zilveren holografische glitter. Deze lak moet je echt in de zon zien, dan is ie echt oogverblindend

Color
Transparant base with lots of yellowgolden glitter, some tiny silver glitter and bigger silver holographic glitter. You should really wear this in the sun, it's really stunning then.

Applicatie
Goed, de lak zit bomvol glitters en ze verdelen heel gelijkmatig over je nagel. Met drie lagen zie je al vrijwel geen nagel meer tussen de glitters door. Voor de zekerheid draag ik er hier een laag China Glaze 2030 (goud) onder.

Application
Good, the polishs is chuckfull of glitter and they disperse evenly. With 3 coats you can't hardly see any nail through all the glitters. Just to be sure no nail is visible I'm wearing a layer China Glaze 2030 (gold) underneath.

Uiteraard is het verwijderen van glitterlak geen pretje, ik vind het eindeloos schrobben erg vervelend en vermoeiend, daarom gebruik ik de bekende folie-methode. Het is nog steeds een klein karweitje met het knippen en vouwen, maar daarna kan je lekker achterover leunen en wachten tot je alles er in één veeg vanaf kan halen.

Ofcourse removal is no fun, I find the endless scrubbing very annoying and tiresome, that's why I use the wellknown foil-method.
It's still a small chore to cut and fold everything, but then you can sitdown and relax and wait until you can get the polish off in one swipe.
En omdat ik dit zo'n leuke lak vind volgen er nog wat extra foto's voor jullie om naar te kijken

Trying out my new Isadora Graffiti Nailpolish

A week or two ago my mom and I went shopping in Germany. Earlier that week I read about a graffiti nailpolish from Isadora that could be bought in a beautystore there, so ofcourse I had to check that out and I bought two of them!

een week of twee geleden ging ik met mijn moeder winkelen in Duitland. Toevallig had ik eerder die week gelezen dat je daar bij de Douglas graffiti nagellak van Isadora kon kopen dus dat heb ik gedaan en heb er twee gekocht!
Ofcourse I had to try it out the next day over different polishes and I took some pictures for you to see. So this is not a full mani, just me playing with polishes. I haven't tried it yet as a full mani, but I'll have to do that real soon.

Natuurlijk moest ik het de volgende dag gelijk proberen over verschillende lakken en daar heb ik een paar foto's van gemaakt. Dit is dus geen echte manicure ofzo, ik was gewoon wat aan het spelen. Ik heb de graffiti lak nog niet als volledige mani gedragen, maar dat ga ik wel zeer snel doen.
As soon als you apply the polish you immediately see it cracking and getting that distinct pattern And as you can see the graffiti polish dries matte.

Zodra je de lak aanbrengt zie je gelijk hoe de lak scheurt en dat specifieke patroon verschijnen. Zoals je ziet droogt de graffiti lak matte op.

De red nail was painted perfectly, but when the graffiti polish was drying to that pattern it dragged some of the red polish with it. I guess I didn't wait long enough for the red polish to dry.
De rode nagellak was keurig opgedaan, maar toen de graffiti lak opdroogde en in dat graffitipatroon trok, sleepte het wat van de rode lak met zich mee. Ik denk dat ik de rode lak langer had moeten laten drogen.

Test: Blaze Sun-Activated Color Changing Nailpolish

My fellow nailpolish-addict colleague Suus ordered a nailpolish that changes colour in sunlight. She chose Flamingo/Red Fire. I really like the idea: inside you have a nice pink color, outside you have a sexy red color.

Mijn mede-nagellak verslaafde collega Suus heeft laatst een nagellak besteld die van kleur moet veranderen in het zonlicht. Ze koos voor Flamingo/Red Fire. Super leuk idee: binnen heb je een brave kleur roze, buiten heb je een sexy rode kleur.

Color Flamingo
Light pink pearl polish. Not my kind of color and I don't like pearl eather.

Kleur Flamingo
Licht roze parelmoer nagellak. Niet een kleur die ik zou dragen en parelmoer vind ik ook al niet mooi.
Application
Great coverage, super fast drying, brushstrokes all over the place.

Applicatie
Dekt geweldig, droogt super snel, zeer duidelijke strepen van het kwastje.
Test
And now the big test...does this polish change from boring pink flamingo to sexy red fire? This was the hard part, I had to sit in the sun and do nothing and watch the color change. Yes, it was hard, but I did it just for you.
I taped one nail so I could do a side-by-side between the two colors.

Test
Dan gaan we nu de grote test doen...verandert deze nagellak van saai roze flamingo naar sexy red fire? Dit was het moeilijkste gedeelte, ik moest in de zon zitten en helemaal niets doen en wachten tot de kleur ging veranderen. Ja, het was moeilijk, maar ik had het voor jullie over.
Ik plakte één nagel af zodat ik een vergelijking kon doen tussen de twee kleuren.
After sitting in the very hot sun for about 15 minutes ( my balcony is somewhat of a sauna in the afternoon ) I decided that should be enough and removed the tape and immediately took a picture.
Do you see the difference?

Na ruim een kwartier in de felle zon te hebben gezeten ( mijn balkon is echt een sauna 's middags ) vond ik het wel genoeg geweest en haalde de pleister er vanaf en maakte direct een foto.
Zie jij het verschil?
(this is the 'after' picture, the middle finger was not in the sun. / Dit is de 'na' foto, de middelvinger is niet in de zon geweest)

Conclusion
I don't see any difference between the color between before sitting in the full sun and after sitting in the full sun. I don't see Red Fire anywhere, only still that boring Flamingo pink. So I guess this Blaze polish doesn't work. I'm a bit dissappointed because I really like the idea, but hey, I got a little tan while trying this out.

Conclusie
Ik zie geen enkel verschil tussen de kleur voorafgaand aan het zitten in de volle zon en na het zitten in de volle zon. Red Fire is nergens te bekennen, ik had n og steeds die saaie roze flamingo op mn nagels. Dus mijn conclusie is dat deze Blaze nagellak niet werkt. Ik ben een beetje teleurgesteld, want het idee is erg leuk, maar hey, ik ben in ieder geval een beetje bruiner geworden tijdens deze test.

My outrageous rainbow nails, eyes and lips. Playing with colors for my LowLands-look

I'm going to LowLands!!! Woohoo!!! Lowlands is the biggest 3-day musicfestival in The Netherlands and it's held every year in august. Over 60.000 people go to this festival to enjoy music (mostly alternative) and party 24/7 like craaazy for three days in a row. And with that many people, you'll need to put some effort in your looks, otherwise you'll just blend in the crowd.
So I started playing with some of my polishes and eyeshadows and made some picures of it for you to see.

Ik ga naar LowLands!!! Woohoo!!! Oh ik heb er zo veel zin in, 3 dagen bands kijken, de hele dag en nacht feesten en genieten van de bijzondere sfeer daar. Zoals je waarschijnlijk weet zijn er echt meer dan 60.000 mensen daar, dus als je niet volledig in de menigte wil opgaan dan moet je wat aandacht aan je uiterlijk besteden. Daarom ben ik vorige week wat gaan spelen met lakjes en oogschaduws en heb er wat foto's van gemaakt voor jullie om naar te kijken.

Dit is het resultaat van niet kunnen kiezen welke nagellak je op moet doen...dan doe je ze allemaal op. En ik vond het er leuk uitzien. Dus het worden regenboognagels voor LowLands.

I liked the result so I'll be rocking with my rainbownails on LowLands!
Waarschijnlijk doe ik er flakies overheen, Gosh Rainbow lijkt me hier wel toepasselijk bij.
I might put some flakies over it, Gosh Rainbow seems so appropriate with this mani.
Toen ik mijn nagels op bovenstaande manier had gelakt bedacht ik me dat ik daar ook bijpassende oogschaduws bij heb. Dus toen ben ik verschillende dingen daarmee gaan uitproberen. Ik heb deze look nog niet eerder geprobeerd, maar ik vond het resultaat best grappig.

When I polished my nails in all those colors I thought about the eyeshadows that I have that perfectly matched the colors on my nails. So I grabbed my eyeshadows and tried some looks with them. I never tried something like this before, but I thought it looked like fun.

Oke, de foto hieronder is een waardeloze foto, ik weet het, maar ik vond het zo grappig om te laten zien hoe ik met twee verschillend opgemaakte ogen zat.

En hier ging ik echt helemaal los, hahaha, vraag me niet waarom, maar ik besloot diezelfde oogschaduw op mijn lippen te smeren.

Essence - My Little Orchid ( and my big orchids )

Orchids are one of my favourite flowers ( the other being bright coloured Gerbera's ), they are so beautiful and elegant. This polish is called My Little Orchid, unfortunately this polish to me doesn't look beautiful and elegant like real orchids.

Orchideeën zijn één van mijn favoriete bloemen ( mijn andere favoriet zijn fel gekleurde gerbera's ), orchideeën zijn zo mooi en elegant. Deze nagellak heet My Little Orchid, helaas vind ik deze niet zo mooi en elegant als een echte orchidee.
Kleur
Medium paars frost met een blauwe ondertoon.

Color
Medium purple frost with a blue undertone.
Applicatie
Goed, dekte bijna in één laag, ik draag er twee op deze foto. Omdat het een frost is moest ik wel mijn best doen om geen zichtbare strepen van het kwastje te krijgen. Ik hou niet zo van frosts, ik vind het iets truttigs hebben.

Application
Good, almost opaque in one coat, I'm wearing two coats in these pictures. Because it's a frost I had to be cautious not to get brushstrokes. I don't like frosts that much, I think they look outdated.

Versiering
Verschillend gekleurde sterretjes van textiel uit mijn Viva La Nails proefpakketje.

Decoration

En nog wat foto's van mijn eigen orchideeën om te laten zien hoe mooi deze bloemen kunnen zijn. Ik heb er nu 3 staan, mijn moeder koopt ze voor me. Gisteren kwam ik thuis en toen stond er weer en nieuwe op mijn tafel, altijd een leuke verrassing.

And here are some pictures to show you how beautiful orchids can be. I have 3 orchids now, my mother buys them for me. Yesterday I came home and found another new orchid om my table (not on the picture), always a nice surprise.
Deze orchideeën zijn meer dan 4 maanden oud, mooi zijn ze nog hè? (edit: volgens mijn moeder zijn ze meer dan 5 maanden oud)
These orchids are more than 4 months old, don't they still look gorgeous? (edit: according to my mom they are more then 5 months old )
